THOMPSON 100 FLY REEL FOR TROUT

This is a Thompson 100 made by Reels, Inc. of San Francisco.  This is a narrow spool version of the Thompson, aimed at trout fishing, and widely used by California fishers in the 1950s, ‘60s, and ‘70s.  The Thompson design incorporated features of Hardy’s Perfect, with the addition of a brake and an overrunning clutch on the winding plate.  The frame and spool are anodized black alloy; the foot is naval brass, and there is a nickel-silver line guard.  Good for lines through 6wt with plenty of backing.  With the line guard, right hand only.
