SOLD WRIGHT & MCGILL RETAILER’S DRY FLY DISPLAY CARD

RETAILER’S DISPLAY CARD FOR WRIGHT AND MCGILL DRY FLIES               

This unusual piece has 69 flat mounted samples of W&M dry flies plus six sample hooks from #4 to #14.  The flies are from the W&M “Wiltless Wing” series.  Patterns include western favorites like the Lady Mite. McKenzie, Mormon Girl, and the Rio Grande King as well as perennial favorites such as the Royal Coachman, Quill Gordon, Pale Evening Dun, and McGinty.  There are several dry patterns evidently developed from Atlantic salmon fly patterns—the Silver Doctor, Thunder and Lightning, and Jock Scott.  The copy write date is 1930.  All are tied on #12 black hooks, but the six flies on the top row are tied on sizes 6 – 14.  Condition is excellent.
