SARACIONE “SKYKOMISH” DELUXE SALMON/STEELHEAD REEL  

Joe Saracione made the Salmo series of salmon/steelhead reels in the 1990s in Seattle at the behest of Bruce McNae, well-known Seattle sportsman.  The reels are bar stock aluminum and Delrin, similar to the Saracione Deluxe Salmon series, but weighing 9.4 ounces instead of 11.5 ounces.  Diameter is 3 ½”, rated for 8wt. or 9wt. lines and 150 yards of 30-pound backing. Right hand wind.  Rims are machined aluminum with the Delrin sideplates set in.  The nine-position drag uses Saracione’s rotor and caliper disc drag system, with oil impregnated cork calipers and a floating rotor disc.  Same smooth, reliable, and powerful drag as the Deluxe Salmon series.  This is serial number 004 of 100, commissioned in 25 sets of four. Reels in this series are almost never seen on the secondary market.  Provenance on request; reel is unused.
