RICHARD WHEATLEY/W.W. DOAK FLY BOX, ENGLAND, 124 SALMON FLIES

This is a classic swing-leaf Wheatley Silmalloy 6’ x 3 1/2” x 1” aluminum box. Carries the W.W. Doak retailer’s decal inside. The box has a uniform finish and tight clips. The flies are Atlantic salmon patterns both hair wing and feather wing, some on double hooks.  All flies appear new, unfished.  I do not know whether the famous Doak shop in Doaktown, New Brunswick, supplied the flies.   Patterns are good for salmon, steelhead, sea trout, arctic char, and other anadromous fish. Condition of the box is fine with no major dents, tight clips, and good hinge. A former owner scratched his name on the bottom, as shown (D19-12)
