R.L. WINSTON 9’ BAMBOO FLY ROD, STEELHEAD

This is a very high condition 9’ 5 ¼ ounce Winston made by Lew Stoner and Doug Merrick and sold to the original owner in the early 1950s. Serial number is 7824. Made with one tip, and best with an 8wt line. Ferrules are 17/64”. From the same estate as the Winston trout rod #7635, and the Hardy 3 1/8” Perfect, and the Thompson 100. Condition is immaculate with the finish virtually flawless. The rod shows very little evidence of use or handling except for some soiling on the cork. Features SF style down locking reel seat over black composite spacer, 6 3/8” half Wells grip, floppy ring hook keeper, gold wraps tipped red, Mildrum stripper, overwrapped ferrules, three bridge guides beyond the stripper, original bag and tube. Tip numbered to the rod.
