HARDY UNIQUA 4” WIDE SPOOL SALMON REEL, ENGLAND $400

This is a vintage Hardy Uniqua salmon reel with the horseshoe spool latch. Line capacity is suitable for Spey fishing. Blued finish has aged to an attractive bronze patina. Marked with Hardy’s patent number 24245 and U24 on the inside. Bushings, foot fastenings, and latch remain tight. The aluminum foot has been neatly shortened to fit modern reel seats. The inside surface of the spool shows some corrosion, as pictured. There is a repair where the spool was drilled to gain access to the grasp pin.
