PHILLIPSON “POWR PAKT” BAMBOO FLY ROD, 8′

Unusual Phillipson Powr Pakt rod, 8’ with a factory extension butt.  Weight is marked as 5 1/2 ounces.  Line size is not marked, but I would try it with a 7wt.  Factory writing on shaft is “Phillipson Powr Pakt / 69 8-5 ½ / Lee Knous.”  Lee Knous was a governor of Colorado from 1947 until 1950.  Rod features 2 ¼” permanent extension butt, Phillipson down locking reel seat over a light tan spacer, 6 ½” full Wells grip, no hook keeper, Perfection stripper, gold silk tipped black, original bag and marked tube.  This rod does not appear as a Phillipson model in any of my books.  It may have been a custom order for Governor Knous. Condition is fine with hardware, cork, finish, and ferrule all good.  There is some soiling to the cork, as shown.
