PERFECTION TROUT REEL, “44 SPECIAL,” VIRTUALLY MINT

These reels almost never appear on the secondary market. This reel is “new old stock,” made in 2016 but obviously unused. Spectacular piece of the reelmaker’s art.  As the model name suggests, the reel’s appearance invokes the famous Meek 44.  Features all highly polished nickel silver frame and side plates.  The spool has a brass axle and hand turned titanium sides. The screws are also titanium. The grasp is stabilized shed antler material from whitetail deer. Comes with original soft leather case.

This is a left hand wind reel, with a fixed gear-and-pawl check that can be engaged or disengaged.   Diameter is 2 ½” and width overall is 1 3/8”—suitable for lines through 5wt. Ornamentation is tastefully restricted to turned pillars and fine knurling on the edges of the frame, handle screw, counterbalance, oiling cap, and check release.  Serial number is 015L of a run of 20 reels.
