ORVIS “SHOOTING STAR” 9’6” BAMBOO FLY ROD   $425

This is a wonderful example of Orvis’s fly rod especially designed for salt water—one of the first available back in the 1960s. Serial number 61810. Length is 9’6”, weight is 6 3/8 ounces (as marked), and it is rated for a 9wt line. Features a detachable fighting butt, butt ferrule plug, metal reel seat, 7” cork, bent wire hook keeper, carballoy stripping guide, bright snake guides, bright NS ferrules.   The condition of this rod is exceptional—I doubt that it has been fished.
