ORVIS “SHOOTING STAR” 9’6” BAMBOO FLY ROD   $495

Splendid example of Orvis’s fly rod especially designed for salt water—one of the first available back in the 1960s. Serial number 24318. Length is 9’6”, weight is 8 ounces (as marked), and it is rated for a GAF (9wt) silk line or a F2 AE nylon fly line. Features a fixed fighting butt, metal reel seat, 7” cork, no hook keeper, bright Aetna Foul-less guides, bright NS ferrules.   The condition of this rod is exceptional—I doubt that it has been fished.
