ORVIS BATTENKILL 9’ BAMBOO FLY ROD

 Great older Battenkill 2-piece, 2-tip rod for salmon, steelhead, or salt water.  Superb condition except that the hook keeper wraps need attention.  Rod features all-aluminum up-locking reel seat, 7” cork, Carboloy stripper, bright snakes, dark red silk, Orvis heavy-duty NS ferrules, 2 perfectly matched tips.  Serial number is 47855.  Rod weighs 6 1/8 ounces and is marked for a 9wt line.  Comes with original paperwork extolling virtues of Orvis impregnated bamboo rods.  Rod shows signs of use on the reel seat and the hook keeper, but guides, wraps, ferrules, and finish are immaculate.  The green bag looks new.  My theory is that someone bought the rod for a trip to Quebec, fished it once, and put it into the closet.  Anyhow, great rod.
