ORVIS BATTENKILL 8’6” BAMBOO ROD  3/2 

 Very nice 3-piece, 2-tip Orvis impregnated Battenkill, 4 ¾ ounces, marked for an HDH or 6wt DT line.  Serial number is 21129, which is skipped over in the database, bracketed by 21124 and 21151.  It was made in April of 1957.  Condition is excellent, with wraps, hardware, guides, and finish all exceptional.  The original tube and label excellent as well. Bluing on the ferrules shows some losses.  Ferrules seat well and release with pop. Features down-locking reel seat over walnut spacer, 5 ¾” cork, hook keeper, Mildrum stripper, dull steel guides, 16/64” and 10/64” ferrules.  The rod handles a DT or WF 6wt. very well indeed—crisp casting, precise pick-up, good mending and roll casting ability with the 8’6” length.  Great all-around trout rod.
