MEGAN BOYD WILKINSON ATLANTIC SALMON FLY

This large, handsome Wilkinson measuring over 3” was offered in Lang’s spring 2012 auction as lot 451. Lang’s described the lot as follows:

Large (2 7/8” hook) colorful full dress salmon fly in Wilkinson pattern tied by Megan Boyd (1915-2001). Boyd has been hailed by many as the finest tier of fishing flies in the world. Her flies are extremely precise with the greatest of care given to every minute detail. This beautiful fly is in unused excellent condition. NO fly collection would be complete without Megan Boyd examples.

The fly was framed in a shadow box mount, and makes a stunning presentation. Megan Boyd’s work is universally admired for her interpretation of classic designs, her use of materials, and her unfailing sense of proportion.
