MALLOCH FLY BOX WITH 38 VINTAGE SALMON FLIES

This English tinware box has the Malloch patent number on the crest but not the Malloch name.  Flies are all vintage Atlantic salmon flies, feather-wing, averaging around 2/0, around 1 ¼” long.  A few are gut-eye, but most are steel-eye.  Flies have been fished, but retain colors quite well.  The box is 6’ x 3 ½” x ½”.  Typical black “Japan” lacquer exterior and cream-colored interior finish.  Interior retains about 70%, and exterior retains about 85%.  Very nice set of vintage salmon flies.  Not all from the same hand but from the same period.
