LEATHERED CREEL WITH HANDITOP

The “Handitop” was a metal top for creels that carried flies, leaders, and bait for the fisherman’s convenience. The device was invented in La Pine, Oregon, during the 1920s, and subsequently manufactured in Portland. They were sold with baskets attached, and apparently also sold as after-market items for improving the utility of a customer’s creel. This one is mounted on a 16” leathered creel. It comes with what may have been the original harness.
