JOHN IRGENS 7’9” QUADRATE BAMBOO FLY ROD

John Irgens was a Wisconsin builder, and master of the quadrate design.  This rod is 7’9” with a 13/64” ferrule, 2-piece, 2-tip, SN 158.  The rod is marked on the bag as suitable for lines from 4wt to 6wt.  Hard to know whether this is Irgens’ writing, or the former owner’s writing.  I like it with a 5wt or 6wt.  The rod features up-locking reel seat over maple, 6 ½” cork, shop-made hook keeper, red wraps tipped black, stripping guide with insert, black snake guides, shop-made blackened ferrules. Condition of the rod is excellent, with hardware, finish, and all aspects of the cane work exceptional   Comes with black tube with a brass cap.  The rod is a powerhouse to cast.
