HEDDON/ FOLSOM #1522, 7’6” BAMBOO FLY ROD

This is an elegant 7’6” two-piece rod made by Heddon for the H.D. Folsom Co. According to Michael Sinclair’s book on Heddon, the #1522 was equivalent to the Heddon Featherweight model 17. The rod has 13/64” ferrules and weighs 3 ½ ounces on my scale. I think it would do well with a 4wt or a 5wt line. This is a very attractive rod with brown wraps tipped gold and gold lettering on the shaft. Features a slide band reel seat over mahogany spacer, 5 1/4” cork grip with a distinctive Folsom shape, floppy ring hook keeper, Mildrum stripper, blued steel snakes, blackened Heddon NS ferrules, Perfection tip-tops, original bag with tag, and a replacement Peerless aluminum tube.

The condition is excellent with varnish firm and sound, all wraps and guides fine, reel seat fine, ferrule fit good. The cork has some roughness. These 2/2 Heddon dry fly rods are a treat to cast.
