HARDY “PALAKONA” BAMBOO FLY ROD

This is a newer 8 ½”, 5.4 ounce, Hardy  2/1 bamboo fly rod, 1 tip, marked for a 6wt. line, but handles a 7wt as well.  The rod is in excellent condition, with light soiling on the cork.  The varnish is clean and bright, with vivid red wraps tipped green, blued nickel silver ferrules, ferrule plug, and the signature Hardy heavy canvas case. The stripping guide has an agate ring, and the snake guides are compressed. Like most British rods, the tip was made 1” shorter than the butt.  This rod comes alive with a long line—well suited to big rivers or still water.
