HARDY “CASTING CLUB de FRANCE,” 8’ BAMBOO FLY ROD, 5wt

The well-known “CC de France” is one of Hardy’s best looking and best-casting rods.  Hardy made the first one in 1910, then produced the model from 1911 until 1961.  After that, there was an encore with another series produced later.  This one, serial number H14931, was made in 1958, according to J.L. Hardy’s records

This rod features a skeleton reel seat over cork, 6” grip, no hook keeper, gold silk with full intermediates, agate stripper, steel English twist snakes, darkened NS step-down ferrules, agate tip-tops, original elaborate bag. Rod weight is given as 4 ounces. Condition is excellent with some soiling to the cork, great ferrule fit, all wraps and hardware fine, and unblemished varnish.  The original hang tags are on the bag, identifying the rod by serial number.
