 The Marvel is one of Hardy’s rod models that has won wide approval at home in the UK and abroad.  It is 3-piece, 2-tip rod usually fished with a 4wt. line.  Its action is gentle, with a deep flex, and excels at delicate presentations.  It can protect the finest tippets.  The rod has a skeleton reel seat with aluminum cap and ring.  Cork is 4 1/2″, hook keeper is ring style, the stripping guide has a clear agate, the ferrules are blued NS truncated step-down design, and silks are green tipped yellow.  It comes in a marked tube and original Hardy bag.  I believe that this rod has one factory replaced tip, since the wrap and guide pattern, and the cane color, are slightly different.  Condition is excellent with all elements in good order.  Written on the shaft in spiral script, “AL5 / The Marvel / Palakona / Registered Trademark.”   SN is H69969.
