GILMORE “X360 INTER-COASTAL” FLY REEL, NEW, US

 Here is a seldom seen reel made in Vermont. New in box. Set up for right hand wind, but easily changed with instructions provided. Comes with extra spool and neoprene pouch. This reel is direct drive, 3 3/8” in diameter, and rated for lines through 9wt. Offered as a salt-water reel. This one is marked as a second, presumably because of a minor blemish on the finish of the back plate.

The Gilmore reel offers complicated engineering. There are two disk drags—one on the back of the frame, and the other on the winding plate, which is separate from the spool (see photo). The spool has two friction surfaces for the disks. The drag adjustment on the spool end of the drawbar sets the tension. There is a second adjustment on the back plate.
