GARY LACEY BENCH-MADE SALMON REEL, NEW

New reel from Gary Lacey’s shop, 3 ½” x 2 ¼” overall, 1” spool width.  These are completely bench made reels—Gary uses no CNC technology. It is rated for lines through 9wt. with 100 yards of backing.  Superb design, materials, and manufacture, reminiscent of the Edward vom Hofe Restigouche.  The drag mechanism is based on von Hofe’s idea of friction pads bearing on the inside of the spool for a smooth braking action.  There is a 7-position drag selector on the back plate, on-off click, and oiling cap.  The side plates are ebonite, finished with nickel silver rims applied over the hard rubber. Three of the five pillars have separate collars, and two have line rollers.  Spool is 3-piece, made of aluminum and naval brass. Available in RHW or LHW, but not changeable.
