FIN NOR #4.5 DIRECT DRIVE SALT WATER FLY REEL

This reel has been spooled with a 10wt or 12wt line,  but comes in its original packaging in wonderful condition. I am not certain of the sequence of the Fin Nor fly reels that came after the Wedding Cake and the Anti-Reverse designs.  This one was made in 1994, according to the factory paperwork in the box.  I do not believe that many of these were made.

The mechanism is based on draw bar design, with a full frame , cork disk drag, ball bearings, and two huge pawls.  Diameter is 4 ½” and spool width is 1”.  Line capacity is estimated as 12wt plus backing.  The reel is right hand wind, but appears convertible to left hand by turning the drag over and reversing the pawls. The reel has a massive drag, as you might expect.  Fin Nor standards of machining and anodizing are the highest. Comes with an unmarked neoprene pouch.
