E.F. PAYNE 8’6” BAMBOO FLY ROD

This is an 8’6” Payne three-piece, two-tip rod weighing 5 ½ ounces with the screw-lock reel seat. It was restored by Darryl Whitehead. According to the model numbers provided on Clark’s Forum by Sante Guiliani, and by Darryl, it is a model 206. The ferrules are 17/64” and 10/64” with 5/64” tips below the tip-top wraps. The rod still has the plastic on the cork from the restoration. Features Payne up-locking reel seat marked to Payne and to retailer Abercrombie and Fitch, 5 ¾” cork grip, floppy ring hook keeper, Perfection stripper, American twist steel snakes, blued ferrules, original bag and tube. The condition is excellent, unfished since restoration. I believe this rod would do best with a 6wt or 7wt line
