Darryl Whitehead 7′ 6″ Bamboo Fly Rod

This rod carries serial number 32, and was built in 1990. Still in the hands of the original owner. Weight is 3 7/8 ounces. Guide wraps are transparent; brown wraps with red tipping at the ferrules. Bench made down locking NS reel seat over walnut burl, no hook keeper, Mildrum style stripper, bronzed snakes, bench made Super Z style ferrules, original bag and tube. Condition is excellent plus with light soiling on the cork. The reel seat hardware—butt cap and band—were engraved by Paulo Barbetti in a floral design. Maker’s name, serial number, and date engraved on the bottom of the butt cap. Horn and NS ferrule plug with chip, as shown. Superb craftsmanship with elegant casting characteristics.
