Chris Carlin built the blanks for the rod and Pennsylvania rodsmith Paul Fischer finished them out in 2009.  Excellent workmanship and finish throughout on this 3-piece, 2-tip rod.  The rod weighs 4 ¼ ounces on my scale, with 15/64” and 10/64” ferrules.  Condition is superb with slight soiling to the cork, immaculate finish, excellent hardware and fittings.

The rod offers a darkened NS slide-band reel seat over hardwood spacer, 5 ½” cork, hook keeper, swelled butt, agate stripper, blued steel snakes, tan wraps tipped green, darkened NS step-down truncated ferrules, 3 x 3 nodes, and bookmatched tips.  This cane work has alternating lighter and darker splines—a distinctive feature that is quite attractive. Rod is marked “Carlin/pf ‘09” at the butt ferrule. Provenance on request.
