R.L. WINSTON 8’ BAMBOO FLY ROD, TROUT

This is a remarkable 8’ 4 ounce Winston made by Lew Stoner and Doug Merrick and sold in 1951 to the original owner. Full provenance on request. Serial number is 7635. Made with one tip, and best with a 5wt line. The rod shows very little evidence of use or handling except for some soiling on the cork. The inscription on the butt has some smudging of the ink, as shown. Features SF style down locking reel seat over black composite spacer, 6” half Wells grip, floppy ring hook keeper, gold wraps tipped red, Mildrum stripper, overwrapped ferrules, three bridge guides beyond the stripper, original bag and tube. Tip numbered to the rod.

Condition is immaculate with the finish virtually flawless.
