Leonard rod from the Simroe era recently restored by Steve Blake. New cork, wraps, and varnish. Features up-locking reel seat over butternut, Fuji stripper, bright snakes, 12/64" ferrules, ferrule plug, original bag and original marked tube. Serial number 3593. Weight is 3 ¼ ounces. The 38H is the most aggressive rod in Leonard’s 38 series, usually fished with a 5wt. This is a fine, versatile rod with endearing feel in the hand and excellent casting characteristics. The model 38 series was supposedly developed as a dry fly taper, but this rod is more versatie--well capable of fishing wet flies, small streamers (especially on sea-run cutthroat in coastal rivers), and nymphs. Condition is excellent restored. Good ferrule fit, sound hardware, all with Steve's superb finish.
