Vintage Fly Boxes and Fly Boxes with Flies






POCKET SIZE ALLCOCK FLY BOX, 51 CLIPS WITH 50 TROUT FLIES                                                $35

Small size Allcock box, 3 1/2' x 2 1/4" x 1/2".  Condition is good with tight clips, good closure, but there is a pleasing patina from years of service on the streams. Flies are all good small trout patterns, sizes 16 to 20, including dries, wets, and some nymph patterns.

 


 


VINTAGE WHEATLEY 12 WINDOW FLY BOX WITH 38 FLIES                                                           $45

Older Wheatley Silmalloy fly box with patent number on the rim.  Condition is good with surface blemishes and dings.  Windows operate well and the catch is secure but a little stiff.  Felt for drying flies has been replaced,  Flies are wet and soft hackle patterns, many with attractive feather wings. Box measures 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" x 1/2". (2772a)




 


UNUSED RICHARD WHEATLEY 12 WINDOW FLY BOX "HENRY'S FORK LODGE"                                    $65

This excellent 12-window Wheatley  is marked to the famous Henry's Fork Lodge.  It was made in 1998 and remains unused.  Condition is excellent with no evidence of fishing use or excessive handling.  One window has yellowed, or was perhaps made that way.  This is a distinctive fly box with a nice association with a premier fly fishing destination. Measures 6" x 3 1/2" x 1". 





 


RICHARD WHEATLEY SILMALLOY FLY BOX, 85 CLIP, 65 FLIES                                    $55

This Wheatley 85-clip box measures 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" x 1/2".  Condition is very good with some surface patina no dents.  This box, has the small horizontal Wheatley lozenge trademark, and "Made in England" written on the end.  The flies are all trout flies, mostly dry, but some wet flies as well.   The Wheatley fly boxes are proudly made by English craftsmen, and offer the best protection for your flies. RICHARD WHEATLEY FLY BOX, 85-CLIP, 45 FLIES                                     $65

This Wheatley 85-clip box measures 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" x 1/2".  Condition is very good with some surface patina and two minor dings, evidence of honorable fishing use.  This is an earlier box, with the large horizontal Wheatley lozenge trademark.  The flies are all new Royal Coachmen, mostly dry, but some wet flies as well.  These hair-wing dry versions of the Royal Coachman are high-floating trout attractors that are consistently productive, though sadly out of fashion these days. (Wh12)


 




WHEATLEY ROUND CAST CASE                                                           $30

This 4" diameter round cast case was used to keep gut leaders moist.  It was made from brass, which was plated, and then blued.  Wheatley lozenge and "made in England" on the bottom.  Condition is good with finish losses, as shown.
