For those not familiar with Schaadt, he was an exceptional big-water fly fisher, specializing in steelhead and salmon in the rivers of Northern California.  Schaadt’s prowess was the subject of articles in Sports Illustrated, and many fishing periodicals.  He was also a central character in the film “Rivers of the Lost Coast.”
